I really enjoy this restaurant! Great atmosphere right on the square with indoor or outdoor seating available. Service is excellent! I have never had a bad experience at the Civil Kitchen. Staff is always friendly, helpful and they don’t forget to check on you. My favorite thing to order is the flash fried kale. So good and I don’t even like kale! Must try, you will love it. I went on a week day to avoid the busy crowd of the weekend. Usually on weekends they are at max capacity. Parking is ok and I usually park down in the free parking at the Discovery Center. That parking is free but there are close parking garages as well. Next time you are near the square take time to check out Civil Kitchen and the flash fried kale! You will thank me! #foodie #springfieldmo #viral
This is a delicious and neat stop in Springfield. The establishment is very clean and the staff was great - Emery was one of the best servers we've had in a really long time. Would return here again when in the area.
Menu has a variety of choices that seem very tast. The food we ordered was delicious and filling. Will definitely be back and eat there again. The seasonal cocktails are also tasty. I got the Apple Mule.... Loved it 💗
We had lunch at Civil Kitchen during the Route 66 Festival. The atmosphere was laid back and the hostess and server were friendly. The sweet potato fries were the best I’ve ever eaten!!!
On business in Springfield, our bartender at the hotel suggested this place. First of all, I was impressed how downtown here has improved, thriving and alive. The atmosphere is great, but the food was amazingly good. I am a big fan of Pork Belly, and their bbq PB was fantastic. The Colossal onion rings were well colossal and delicious. If you have seen my reviews that have been viewed by 40 million people, you know that I do not give five stars easy! An excellent menu. A pleasant staff, and very nice decor. Location is awesome, city square views from almost every table. Several different dining areas for large groups to just couples. Outdoor seating for when the weather is right. Pricing is on par with the quality of food and service. Just a great option if you want besides your typical large chain eatery. A nice place to eat and have pleasant conversation without being rushed. We will eat here again. It is a comfortable place to hang out and enjoy your meal.
We have been to Civil a couple times now. The first was ok, but the second time was much better. It was a busy night and we could tell the staff was under pressure with an event happening downtown. They took great care of us and made it a special night. As for the food, it was excellent. Do not pass up the seafood beignets. They are like a crab rangoon and a hush puppy had a baby. 👍🏻
I have heard too many good things about this place and FINALLY took the plunge and holy moly I am so glad I did! Everything was so incredibly tasty. Fresh, flavorful and delicious! We got the onion appetizer. Civil Burger and their chicken tenders. All so amazing and highly recommend! Will have to come back to try more things even dessert! Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and well maintained. Will definitely be coming back!
My first visit to Civil Kitchen today and it was great! I ordered the fish tacos. The side of sauce was savory & sweet. It had a little kick 🔥 to it ❤️❤️❤️. We had a very large group of people so we had many appetizers & meal varieties. One of the appetizers i had was a cheesy garlicee bread with a maple balsamic dip. Delicious! I went home and told my daughter & sister they need to go have some lunch there the next day. Very good and the service was very good too!🥰
